New things are happening in Atlanta’s Upper Westside

The Marietta Street Artery Association (MSAA) is a neighborhood association dedicated to making a difference and creating an identity for Atlanta’s Westside as an urban arts, business, entertainment, residential and creative services district. The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center is hosting the event for the unveiling of two new projects, the launch of the Westside Business Map and the online business map with social calendar. The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center has been a fixture of the Westside since 1987 and a part of the Atlanta art scene for over 35 years. The event to announce these two exciting new projects is January 27, at 6:30 p.m. at The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center located at 535 Means St. Light refreshments will be served. Atlanta’s Screen on the Green

Screen on the Green is an annual summertime event in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park hosted by local Atlanta television station Peachtree TV. The series consist of classic and up-to-date free movies shown on a large screen outdoors in the park each Thursday at sunset for five weeks ending June 25, 2009. Featured movies for 2009 are: Back to the Future, Dreamgirls, Field of Dreams, Home Alone and Ghost Busters. High-back chairs, tents, glass containers, pets, and grills are not allowed. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park. Alcoholic beverages cannot be brought into Centennial Olympic Park but will be served on site
